Caterpillar to Relocate Global Headquarters to Dallas-Fort Worth Area Earlier this year, Caterpillar announced its plans to move its global headquarters to the existing office in Irving, Texas, from its current location in Deerfield, Ilinois. According to Chairman and CEO Jim Umpleby, the move supported the company’s strategy for profitable growth while striving to build a more sustainable world. (Source: Construction Equipment Guide) LiuGong North America Names New Vice Presidents and Directors The organizational enhancements were announced as LiuGong North America advanced its efforts to grow its dealer network and customer base. (Source: Rental Equipment Register) Komatsu to Expand 'Mother Plant' in Longview, Texas So as to upgrade and consolidate multiple functions into a single location, Komatsu announced its plans for a significantly expanded office and administration building on its manufacturing campus in The Lone Star State. (Source: International Mining) Deere Takes ‘Multipronged Approach’ to Secure Supply, Tackle Backlog Since part constraints created a considerable amount of production backlogs, John Deere announced several long-term agreements with suppliers and took steps to secure supply. (Source: Supply Chain Dive) Major Leadership Changes at Deutz AG Toward the beginning of 2022, Deutz AG announced several changes to its senior leadership. Most notable of the changes was the immediate dismissal of Dr. Frank Hiller as Chairman of the company’s Board of Management. Dr. Dietmar Voggenreiter was also elected as the new Chairman of the Deutz Supervisory Board. (Source: Diesel Progress) Kubota to Build Excavator, Tractor Plants in U.S., India for $2.2 Billion Over the summer, Kubota announced its plan to build new factories in the United States and India for construction and agricultural equipment, respectively, investing a total of nearly $2.2 billion by 2030. (Source: Nikkei Asia) Standing its Ground: Hitachi Stakes its Claim on American Markets The joint venture between Hitachi Construction Equipment and John Deere ended on March 1. At that point, the former was known as Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas (HCMA). (Source: CONEXPO-CON/AGG 365) Deere Announces Senior Leadership Changes Deere and Company announced that its board of directors elected Ryan Campbell as President of Worldwide Construction & Forestry and Power Systems. This senior leadership change was effective May 31, and Campbell succeeded John Stone, who elected to leave the company. (Source: Construction Equipment Guide) Cummins to Acquire Meritor The $3.7 billion acquisition was a major milestone for Cummins, as Meritor is an industry leader and supplier. The deal was also crucial to addressing the challenge of developing economically viable zero carbon solutions for commercial and industrial applications. (Source: Construction Equipment)  Doosan to Get New Name Following Hyundai Acquisition After being acquired by Hyundai Heavy Industries in 2021, Doosan Infracore plans to rebrand in 2023 with a new name.
