John Deere has continued expanding the excavator options available under its Performance Tiering strategy, adding six models to its P-Tier selections and the 200 G-Tier excavator as a brand-new offering.
New P-Tier models include the 135, 210, 245, 250, 300 and 345, all part of Deere's mid-size range, as is the 200 G-Tier.
"Every job site is different, and our customers want excavator options that can be personalized by performance, price and operator experience," said Justin Steger, solutions marketing manager, John Deere Construction & Forestry. "Our newly expanded lineup of P- and G-Tier excavators, including the brand-new 200 G-Tier, provides machine solutions built for various applications and jobs to enhance profitability and efficiency."
Features focus on service and production for P-Tier
Deere's P-Tier machines are designed to be high production and include advanced features to improve comfort and efficiency. The new P-Tier models have improved front-joint durability, and are designed to make serviceability easier with grease points at the arm-tip. Better torque retention at the clamp makes it less likely that the front hydraulic pipes will move. Redesigned boom-foot bushings offer enhanced durability for an extended machine lifespan.
A PowerTech 4.5-litre engine provides optimal performance on the 200 G-Tier, which is designed to be more efficient and reliable while providing good power and torque. These machines are fitted with high-uptime exhaust filters that are easy to maintain.
The 200 G-Tier features Powerwise Plus hydraulic management, which uses intuitive technology to deliver on-demand power. The pilot controls are metered, helping provide reliable, fuel-efficient machine performance. Operators can push a button on the joystick and boost power or toggle automatic boom-up and lifting functions. An optional hydraulic single pedal propel system moves the machine as needed without using both hand levers and foot pedals.
Two high-pressure, high-flow auxiliary packages are available for users who need additional hydraulic capacity for powering attachments.
A standard control pattern change valve comes standard on the 200 G-Tier, as is a pattern-control switch that is accessible from ground level. These pair with ergonomically correct short-throw pilot joysticks to provide smooth and precise fingertip control with less movement or effort.
G-Tier and P-Tier machines can be equipped with a range of buckets, depending on application. A new hydraulic coupler-ready option includes factory-installed hydraulic plumbing to the end of the arm, additional coupler controls integrated into a switch in the cab, and a quick and efficient coupler installation capability.
