Metso has reorganized its leadership team, effective Nov. 4, 2024, aimed at accelerating growth and improving operational efficiency.
The company’s structure now includes four business areas — Aggregates, Minerals, Services and Consumables — and four corporate functions: Finance, Business Growth, HR and Legal.
The Metals business area has been discontinued, and a new Business Growth function has been created to enhance growth strategy implementation.
“With these changes, we will speed up the implementation of Metso’s growth strategy, strengthen our market position in the chosen businesses and improve our operational efficiency,” Metso’s President and CEO Sami Takaluoma said.
“The main task of the new corporate function is to ensure that the conditions for growth are in place and optimized to generate the best value for the entire company.”
The newly appointed leadership team includes:
Takaluoma highlighted the value of the leadership team’s internal expertise, welcoming new members Saso Kitanoski and Claudia Genin, whose backgrounds in customer relations and growth strategy will enhance Metso’s focus on market leadership.
The former President of the Minerals business area, Markku Teräsvasara, will stay with Metso through year-end to ensure a smooth transition.
Takaluoma expressed gratitude for Teräsvasara’s contributions, wishing him success in future endeavors.
“With these changes, we are sharpening our leadership, speeding up our decision-making and improving our ability to lead the company effectively,” Takaluoma said.
“Saso brings valuable and diverse experience from the customer interface to the management team. Claudia, on the other hand, has a strong track record in leading a successful growth strategy. I wish all members of the management team success in their new and existing roles.”
