Mack Trucks has entered an industry-first partnership with Allison Transmission, integrating Allison Diagnostic Trouble Code data into Mack’s GuardDog Connect telematics solution.
Starting in the second quarter of 2025, Mack GuardDog Connect will incorporate Allison transmission data into its 24/7 monitoring service.
The integration streamlines communications by providing customers with a single point of contact through Mack, rather than receiving information from multiple sources.
“Mack’s goal is and always has been to offer solutions to make Mack easy to do business with,” Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America said.
“We continue to make advancements with GuardDog Connect, and we believe this partnership with Allison is just another example of Mack’s industry-leading uptime services and solutions.”
GuardDog Connect proactively monitors a truck’s critical fault codes, helping to prevent unplanned downtime.
Previously, customers received Allison transmission service alerts separately and worked directly with an Allison Authorized service provider to determine next steps.
Now, Mack OneCall agents at the Mack Uptime Center will handle support, including scheduling service and repairs.
Mack collaborates with Allison to collect instructions for addressing fault codes, allowing customers to receive a single notification instead of multiple communications.
“This integration reflects our long-standing partnership with Mack and our commitment to supporting our mutual customers,” Rohan Barua, vice president of North America sales, global channel, and aftermarket at Allison Transmission said.
“Providing transmission insights through Mack’s telematics solution ensures customers are directed to an Allison Authorized service provider for the necessary service and support," he added.
Mack piloted the program with several customers, all of whom responded favorably to the streamlined process, Marty Foulks, Mack connected vehicle product manager said.
“This is part of the Integrated Uptime subscription service, so there is no additional charge. The fleets with an existing Mack Integrated Uptime subscription and equipped with Allison transmissions will automatically be enrolled in the service and begin receiving the notifications,” Foulks said.
“Both companies have developed a seamless vehicle analytics collaboration to make Mack GuardDog Connect applicable for Allison transmission data.”
The integration is part of Mack’s broader efforts to enhance vehicle uptime.
The company recently introduced automated software deployment through AutoSend and Self-Service Parameter Updates via Mack Over The Air.
Starting in the first quarter of 2025, AutoSend will become standard for trucks equipped with Driver-Display Activation, allowing drivers to install software updates directly from the dashboard.
The feature is available through Mack’s Integrated Uptime subscription at no extra charge.
Additionally, Self-Service Parameter Updates will launch in the second quarter, enabling fleet managers to create and deploy custom parameter profiles through the Mack Connect customer portal.
The tool allows users to manage settings such as road speed limits and idle shutdown parameters without assistance from Mack’s Uptime Center.
Mack continues to expand its digital tools to provide customers with efficient solutions that minimize downtime and improve fleet management.
