Mack Defense Completes 500th M917A3 Heavy Dump Truck for US Army

Mack Defense has achieved a significant milestone by delivering its 500th M917A3 Heavy Dump Truck (HDT) to the U.S. Army. This milestone highlights Mack Defense’s commitment to supplying durable, high-performance military vehicles.

The M917A3 HDT, built on the Mack Granite chassis, is part of a $296 million, seven-year contract awarded by the U.S. Army in 2018, allowing for up to 683 units. To date, 549 HDTs have been ordered, including 74 trucks funded by the 2024 presidential budget and 29 purchased by the U.S. National Guard.

Mack Defense’s Commitment to Military-Grade Manufacturing

Production of the M917A3 HDT began in early 2021, following a $6.5 million investment in a dedicated production line at Mack Defense’s Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility. This specialized assembly line supports the M917A3 contract while enabling the production of additional military vehicle variants.

With 500 units completed, Mack Defense continues to provide reliable, high-performance military trucks that meet the demands of the U.S. Army’s toughest missions.
