Caterpillar Inc. has introduced its the new Cat D8 dozer, featuring advanced technology designed to improve productivity, precision and operator comfort. The redesigned dozer includes a more efficient and spacious cab, an upgraded Cat C15 engine, and a range of enhanced technologies to streamline operation.
The next-generation D8 dozer features a completely redesigned cab with 17% better visibility and a more comfortable layout. It also includes a 254-mm touchscreen with key assistive technologies, such as stable blade for smoother surfaces, traction control to reduce track wear and AutoCarry for consistent blade load.
Caterpillar also added remote operation capabilities to the D8, enabling operators to control the dozer from a distance in hazardous environments using the Cat Command for dozing system. The machine also offers improved connectivity, with features like remote troubleshoot and remote flash for easier diagnostics and software updates.
For specialized applications, such as waste handling, the D8 Waste Handler is designed to withstand harsh landfill environments, with impact-resistant cab doors and an enhanced cooling system.
