Caterpillar has upgraded its VisionLink productivity platform with three new features: cat grade and compact, operator coaching and e-ticketing. These updates aim to enhance jobsite productivity and equipment utilization by providing managers with deeper insights.
VisionLink productivity now integrates Cat grade 3D and Cat compact systems. This allows for seamless distribution of 3D design files and updates across all machines on a jobsite, eliminating the need for USB uploads. It also leverages GNSS corrections for accurate position validation, reducing the need for expensive base stations on short-term projects. This connectivity minimizes machine downtime by reducing the need for onsite technician visits.
The platform's user-friendly dashboards offer comprehensive jobsite summaries and detailed insights with key performance indicators (KPIs). It analyzes standard telematics data, such as machine location, fuel burn, and idle time, to provide a clear overview of machine performance. Advanced data from machines equipped with Cat payload, grade and compact systems offer more specific job-related details. Cat compact dashboards display daily work completed and calculate fill volumes, showing the percentage of the area compacted to the target level using the Cat compaction algorithm (CCA) or landfill compaction algorithm (LCA).
Operator coaching is designed to help operators improve their skills, efficiency, and productivity. The system tracks tips in two categories: operating efficiency and machine health. Operators receive notifications during operation when actions trigger relevant tips. Managers can remotely view which coaching tips have been activated, allowing them to track improvements over time and tailor training to specific needs.
The new e-ticketing feature eliminates the need for manual or printed tickets from Cat payload systems. Key personnel receive electronic copies via email, containing detailed information about individual buckets, total payload, truck and material type. E-ticketing also tracks key performance indicators such as ticket count, average truck rate, pass count per ticket and total payload per ticket.
These enhancements are set to streamline operations and improve overall jobsite efficiency, providing managers with comprehensive tools for better decision-making and resource management.
