Caterpillar has announced significant technology and performance updates for its next generation of medium wheel loaders, including models from the 950 to 982 series and XE variants. These enhancements aim to increase productivity and operational ease.
Key Updates Include:
Auto Differential Lock: The new auto front differential lock engages automatically to improve traction. Optional upgrades include auto locks for both front and rear differentials.
Integrated Tire Pressure Monitoring: An available system displays tire pressure on the machine’s screen, helping maintain optimal performance.
Advanced Technology Features: A new job-aid widget optimizes bucket height for stability and material retention. Improved zero-angle work tool settings and programmable buttons on the control pod enhance operational efficiency.
Enhanced Payload Management: The onboard display now supports Cat Payload, manual tip-off and customizable application profiles. The new e-Ticketing option allows for instant electronic ticketing, reducing paper use.
Customizable Settings: XE models offer settings for forward/reverse speed ranges and rimpull limits, visible on the front dash.
Reliability Improvements: Optional tire pressure monitoring, remote flash and troubleshooting features enhance machine reliability and maintenance. Integration with VisionLink improves preventative maintenance tracking.
Operator Comfort: Upgrades include a new left footrest for added comfort, improved thumb roller on XE models, and a new side grip joystick for hydraulic functions. The active carbon cab prefilter protects against dust and allows for easier retrofits.
