Cat Command for Loading Now Available for Medium Wheel Loaders

Caterpillar has expanded its Cat Command for Loading technology to all medium wheel loaders, excluding the GC models.

This advanced technology provides semi-autonomous remote control of next-generation Cat 950 – 982-wheel loaders, allowing operators to work from a safe location away from potentially hazardous environments. Cat Command for Loading is designed to enhance safety while maintaining high productivity.

The latest update brings the remote operation feature to Cat 950, 962, 966, 966 XE, 972, 972 XE, 980, 980 XE, 982 and 982 XE models. With both line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight configurations available, operators can choose the best setup for the job.

The technology is fully integrated with the loader’s electronic and hydraulic systems, ensuring smooth, responsive control.

• Dealer-Installed Package: The Command hardware is dealer-installed with a low-profile design on the loader’s roof, requiring no welding or wire splicing, making it easy to install and implement.
• Ergonomic Console: Controls for startup, shutdown and key loader functions are available through a user-friendly console layout, allowing for precise machine handling.
• Integrated Safety Features: Wheel loader movements stop immediately if the A-stop or remote shutdown switch is pressed, communication is lost, a severe fault occurs or the console tilts over 45 degrees.
• Command Station for Non-Line-of-Sight Operation: The Command station allows operators to control multiple machines from miles away, supporting efficient, remote operations across job sites. It is compatible with other Cat Command offerings, such as those for excavators and dozers.
