Cat 903 Compact Wheel Loader: More Power, Enhanced Performance and Comfort

Building on the success of the widely popular Cat 903D, the Cat 903 compact wheel loader introduces notable enhancements to performance, power and comfort.

Powered by the Cat C1.7 engine, the new 903 delivers 17% more horsepower than its predecessor. This boost in power enhances its capability in critical tasks such as pushing, operating on grades and simultaneously managing drive, steering and lift functions. With a full turn tip load rating of 5,516 pounds, the machine offers superior lifting and handling capacity.

“Our 903 offers all the features – improved comfort, service access and safety – that made the 903D a preferred compact wheel loader with customers,” Joel Grimes, compact loader market professional for Caterpillar said.

“Today’s 903 has a more powerful engine, improved coupler design and enhanced multifunction hydraulic performance to further the productivity standard for this class size.”

The 903 is designed with the operator's comfort in mind, featuring an enhanced workstation with spacious legroom, ergonomically placed pedals and easy entry and exit. Optional speed-sensitive ride control improves comfort for all-day operation.

Additionally, the multifunction joystick provides fingertip control over the third-function hydraulic system, making tasks more efficient. The machine’s minimal engine overhang improves rear and corner visibility, particularly useful in confined spaces.

For even greater convenience, the 903 can be equipped with a hydraulic skid steer loader (SSL) coupler, which speeds up work tool changes.

The SSL coupler also includes a viewing window for improved visibility of fork tips when using compact wheel loader-style forks.

A high-capacity auxiliary hydraulic system provides up to 14.5 gallons per minute at 3,336 psi, delivering ample hydraulic power for operating attachments like power box rakes and grapple buckets.

The Cat 903 offers a wide range of customizable options to handle different jobsite requirements. An optional front and rear differential lock provides maximum traction in slippery conditions, while engine and ground speed control make it ideal for working with hydromechanical tools like brooms.

A new work tool electrical harness allows the loader to handle more tools than its predecessor, boosting its versatility across various applications.
