Bobcat Company has been honored with the renowned Red Dot Award for Design Concept for its innovative creation, the RogueX2, an all-electric, fully autonomous concept loader. The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s most respected design accolades, with the Design Concept category celebrating cutting-edge innovations that shape the future of industries.
"We are honored to win the world-renowned Red Dot Award for Design Concept in recognition of the groundbreaking design of the RogueX2,” Joel Honeyman, vice president of global innovation at Doosan Bobcat, said. “This award is a testament to the dedication of the Bobcat teams who are passionate about pushing design limits and advancing innovation to redefine the machines of tomorrow.”
The Bobcat Global Design Studio, in collaboration with the Bobcat Global Innovation team, played a central role in the machine's development. The RogueX2, which will be showcased at CES 2024, is a powerful, eco-friendly machine. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery and utilizes electric drive actuated lift and tilt kinematics, eliminating the need for traditional hydraulics. Built without a cab, the concept loader explores how machines can be optimized for future technologies, offering a new work experience.
The design of RogueX2 is geared toward sustainability, featuring wheels that maximize electric battery run time and axial flux motors that enhance the machine's tractive power. The loader has garnered numerous new patents and reflects Bobcat’s commitment to innovation.
“To build a smarter, more sustainable and connected future, we must ask the questions no one else has thought to ask before and invent new solutions that previously did not exist,” Honeyman, added.
Currently, in the research and development phase, the RogueX2 is not yet available for commercial use. However, its development is a significant milestone in Bobcat's push towards smarter and more sustainable work machines.
